Level Crossing Removal Projects in the West
The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established by the Victorian Government as part of an election commitment to eliminate 75 of the most dangerous level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne by 2025.
This project is part of a bigger transport plan that includes other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards.
14 of these projects are in the West. 6 (including a stabling facility) have already been completed.
In total, so far, 43 have been removed across the state.
